REO properties are properties the bank has taken back from the owner and are listed for sale through local realtors.
Short Sale Homes are properties where the owner is listing their home for sale through a local Realtor in hope of avoiding foreclosure.
In both instances and with the right Agent helping you, you can find some good buys.
When making an offer on either a Short Sale or an REO, be patient and be willing to wait the time for the bank to respond to the offer, if you are offering on an REO listing; or to wait for the short sale approval if you are offering on a short sale property.
